Prayer offers a powerful window into how humans come to know God - not through dramatic revelations, but through everyday experiences that inspire recognition of forces beyond our control. Building on insights from *Knowing God: Jewish Journeys to the Unknowable*, this research analyzes core Jewish prayers through a constructivist lens, examining how ordinary human encounters with natural cycles, healing, learning, and reconciliation led authors to articulate their understanding of the divine. By applying four analytical questions to selected prayers from the Shema blessings and Amidah, the study reveals why prayer composers chose theological rather than secular language to describe these experiences, what characteristics of God they depicted, and how their theological frameworks remain relevant for modern practitioners. The analysis demonstrates the dual role of the Siddur as both liturgy and educational theology, showing how it systematically identifies phenomena that support theistic belief while selectively emphasizing experiences that reinforce rather than challenge faith. Though prayer-based theological knowledge remains inherently incomplete, this research establishes it as a legitimate pathway for understanding God through careful examination of transcendent moments in ordinary life.
